hello corner, i am turning you
the most amazing thing that has happened in a while in my life happened today. It's huge. Are you ready to hear it?

I got a 9-5, every weekend off position. It's no more money but HOLY FUCKING SHIT! every weekend off. I leave work at 5 pm, EVERY SINGLE DAY.

When I heard this today I started crying. Really. All you cube drones probably think, so what, big deal, but it means I can make plans. Not tentative "Well, if I don't have to work that night..." plans but real, real plans. AND it means I can go to derby practice. WITHOUT WEED! so guess who's triumphant return is on Sunday. MINE!

Today, I won just a little bit. YEY!

Hooray! I love set schedules. I finally have a job with a boss who's willing to give me exactly the hours i need, and when I need. AND he understands when I call out when it's snowing because I don't want to drive with my two year old. I mean... it's just a grocery store, but he gives me what I need (and understands my near inability to tolerate the teenagers I work with).

hey, after running his own business for 13 years my husband had to buckle down and get a 9-5 and it is AWESOME. To me, at least :) I was just so giddy to actually KNOW what his paycheck will be and WHEN he will get it - imagine that! And he never ever works weekends now... it has definitely made MY life so much easier, that's for sure.
Anyway, congrats! What's the job??

yay! hey, i know how awesome it is to have a set schedule. i'm not one for having my work hours and days randomized all over the place. a 9-5 gives you a sense of continuinty and control over your life. yay, i'm very happy for you! :)

I totally understand this. Congratulations to you! When I worked at the grocery store I never had weekends off and my schedule changed every single week. I am very very happy for you. You are the Derby Winner in my book, every single moment that you grace us all with your presence.
